Location, location, location
We found a venue today! Technically I had already found the venue and decided that this was where I wanted to get married at, but I wanted Kyle's opinion and approval as well. It can be difficult to get him out of bed (since he works night shift) early on a day that I am off/available between our work schedules and my school schedule.
We had looked at a few locations a couple of weeks ago, and it has been kind of hard time finding a place that we can have an indoor ceremony at since it will take place in late winter. Especially a place that we can do the ceremony AND the reception at preferably (less expensive and easier for our out-of-town guests to get around). And this place has BOTH!! It isn't as big as some of the other locations, but the ambiance is to die for (:
Another perk, is unlike a lot of the other venues, the use of tables and chairs, and the stereo system are FREE. Jackpot!! I was a little apprehensive about having the ceremony and the reception in the same BUILDING (I had originally wanted two separate buildings and found a venue about a hour away that fit the bill but it was $$$), but I think we can make it work. *fingers crossed*
We will be sending our first deposit check out this week for the venue so we can lock down our wedding date and (maybe) send some save-the-dates out, which makes the whole we-are-getting-married-and-I'm-legitimately-planning-my-wedding-thing more surreal.

"Say Yes to the Dress"
They made me say that. As corny as it is, the professional consultant made me say yes to the dress. Word for word. I felt silly
BUT, I did finally find my dress!! I've only been looking for about three weeks here and there, but when my aunt had a chance to come down from out-of-town, I knew I wanted to go shopping with her and my mom. Both of their opinions mattered to me.
I would post pictures of us three together, but I'm actually wearing THE dress and I don't want to spoil the surprise for everyone. But, I'm not gonna lie - I look fabulous.
I've never ever been a dress girl. Ever. I grew up a tomboy and things haven't changed. I am constantly surround by testosterone at home and at work, so I'm not your typical girl. The whole burping and farting thing...not a stranger to it unfortunately. So, trying on these white, fluffy, sparkly dress was weird. The first few times I just felt awkward, but after that I would get giddy. I could actually look like a real girl!

Needless to say, none of these are THE dress. Sorry folks, but the one on the bottom right was a serious contender. In the end, I decided on a dress I never thought I would buy or want to wear on my wedding day. It is the complete opposite of the type of dress I was looking for originally - but I guess that is how it goes. (;
